Professional cleaning

Your vest, fluffy like the day you bought it

Down restored, waterproofing renewed, zero musty smell. A professional laundry in Lublin that knows how to handle down.

How it works

September. You open the closet. Your vest smells like a dog you don't have.

You bought it two years ago at Decathlon. Or at a North Face outlet for half price. You wear it from September to May – cycling, commuting, walking with the kids. Light, warm, comfortable. The trouble starts when it needs washing.

You toss it in the machine at 30 degrees, just like the label says. Out comes a wet, flat pillow. The down has clumped into lumps, the vest looks like a soggy sack, and after drying on a clothes horse it's still thin and doesn't keep you warm. Because your home machine doesn't have a tumble dryer with tennis balls to break up the down. And it doesn't have specialist detergent that won't strip the natural oils from the feathers.

What happens to a vest after home washing

Clumped down that doesn't keep you warm

Wet down sticks together in lumps inside the baffles. Without a tumble dryer and tennis balls, there's no breaking it apart. The vest goes flat, loses 90% of its insulation, and looks like it's been through a disaster.

Destroyed DWR waterproofing

Regular detergent and fabric softener strip the water-repellent coating. Water stops beading on the surface and starts soaking in. A vest that was supposed to protect you from rain now absorbs it like a sponge.

Musty smell you can't wash out

Down that hasn't fully dried begins to rot. Bacteria break down the keratin in the feathers – producing that wet-dog smell. One bad dry and that odor stays in the vest for months.

That's why a down vest isn't a job for your home washing machine. It's a job for someone with the right equipment, the right products, and the patience to tumble-dry down for 3 hours.

How we clean vests

7 steps you can't replicate at home

Step 1

Inspecting the fabric and filling

Inspecting the fabric and filling

We check the label, the type of filling (goose down, duck down, PrimaLoft, fleece), and test the DWR coating with a water-drop test. We document stains and check the zippers. Every vest is a different case.

Step 2

Securing and pre-treating stains

Securing and pre-treating stains

We zip up all zippers and snaps, turn the vest inside out. Collar stains from sweat and sebum – enzymatic degreaser. Trail mud – protease. Grease spots – citrus solvent. 15 minutes and the stains give in.

Step 3

Washing with specialist detergent

Washing with specialist detergent

Nikwax Down Wash Direct for down – it doesn't strip the natural oils from the feathers. Nikwax Tech Wash for membranes. 30°C, spin at max 400-600 RPM, drum loaded to one-third. At least 2 extra rinses in soft water.

Step 4

Tumble drying with tennis balls

Tumble drying with tennis balls

2-4 hours in a tumble dryer on low heat. 3-4 tennis balls break up down clumps with every rotation. Every 30 minutes we manually check and break apart any remaining lumps. The down must be 100% dry – not a percent less.

Step 5

Restoring DWR waterproofing

Restoring DWR waterproofing

Water-drop test after washing. If water soaks in – we apply Nikwax TX.Direct Spray-On evenly across the entire surface. Then 20 minutes in the dryer – heat reactivates the DWR molecules. Water beads up again just like in the shop.

Step 6

Quality control and return

Quality control and return

We check: even down distribution in every baffle, no clumps, fluffiness comparable to factory condition. We lubricate zippers with silicone. DWR test, smell test. Comparison with the condition before cleaning. Your vest comes back like new.

Why bring your vest to us instead of washing at home

4 reasons your washing machine won't cut it

We know the difference between goose down and PrimaLoft

Down vest, synthetic, softshell, fleece – each one needs a different detergent, temperature, and drying technique. Nikwax Down Wash, Tech Wash, tennis balls, DWR reactivation. We have it all. Your bathroom doesn't.

Drop off the vest. Get your afternoon back.

Home down washing means 4+ hours of stress – washing, drying, breaking up clumps by hand, praying it won't stink. With us, you drop off the vest and pick it up ready to wear. No stress.

What our customers say

Reviews from Google (4.8/5)

"My North Face down vest looked like a soggy sack after home washing – the down clumped into two lumps and stopped keeping me warm at all. Brought it to Wrońska, came back fluffy, water rolls off the fabric again. Now I drop it off once a season and don't worry about it."

"I wear a quilted vest to the office instead of a blazer – comfortable and warm. After a year of daily wear, the collar was dark from sweat and the whole thing smelled bad. I tried washing it myself – came out worse than it went in. Gorące Żelazko sorted it in two days. Smells fresh, looks like new."
Tomek R., IT workerZobacz na Google

50 PLN instead of 500 PLN for a new vest.
