And then you face the question: wash it at home and risk destroying the impregnation and membrane, or give it to someone who knows how to handle it?

Why home cleaning ruins motorcycle jackets
Loss of fabric impregnation and drying of leather inserts
Home washing in hot water and ordinary detergents strip the factory DWR impregnation from the outer fabric, so it stops repelling water and starts absorbing it instead. Leather inserts washed this way can also harden and crack, since they lose the natural oils that keep them supple.
Protective coating damage
Many jackets have waterproof-breathable membranes (Gore-Tex, Hipora) and reflective coatings on their visibility elements. Overly aggressive agents, spinning, or hot water can permanently weaken these coatings: you lose the membrane's waterproofing and the effectiveness of the reflective elements.
Armour deformation
Armour inserts in shoulders, elbows, and back are designed to hold their shape and protect in a fall. Washing in a machine with spinning or drying at high temperature can permanently deform them. Then they no longer fulfil their function.

6 steps to a clean and safe motorcycle jacket
Every motorcycle jacket goes through a full professional care process. From material inspection to quality control.
- Step 1
Material and construction inspection
We start with a thorough examination of your jacket. We check the type of textile, the membrane and impregnation, the presence of leather inserts, and the condition of the armour. We identify soiling: insects, grease, sweat, road mud. Based on this, we select the appropriate cleaning method.
- Step 2
Surface cleaning
We remove dried insects, mud, and other surface dirt using soft brushes and special agents for textile or leather. We work precisely, spot by spot, without soaking the entire jacket, so as not to damage protective coatings and waterproof-breathable membranes.
- Step 3
Specialist cleaning
Textile and combination jackets are washed in controlled conditions (low temperature, no spinning), preserving the integrity of membranes and impregnations. Leather jackets and leather inserts are cleaned using the wet method with agents designed for motorcycle leathers, which do not destroy natural oils.
- Step 4
Material care and impregnation
After cleaning we renew the DWR impregnation, so the textile repels water again and the membrane breathes as it should. Leather jackets and leather inserts are also conditioned with professional products that restore elasticity and prevent cracking.
- Step 5
Controlled drying
We dry the jacket at room temperature, away from direct heat sources. We hang it on a wide hanger that does not deform the shoulders. We never use a tumble dryer or radiators. High temperature could damage the armour, the membrane, and any leather inserts.
- Step 6
Quality control
Before we hand back the jacket, we check cleanliness, the condition of the material and any leather inserts, zipper and Velcro condition, shape symmetry. We make sure the armour is in place and has not been deformed. We pack the jacket in a breathable garment bag that protects it during transport.

How much does motorcycle jacket cleaning cost in Lublin?
From 100 PLN - the price depends on the material and how dirty the jacket is. A smooth textile shell is a different job from leather with insects driven into the perforation and sweat in the lining. The price covers the full process: cleaning, leather conditioning and drying that won't deform the armour. We give an exact quote once we've seen the jacket.
How do you clean a leather motorcycle jacket?
Not in a machine and not with ordinary soap. Leather is cleaned wet, spot by spot, with products made for motorcycle hides, then conditioned - otherwise it dries out and cracks at the first fall. Household detergents and hot water strip its natural oils. Without the right products and practice, it's safer to hand it to someone who does this daily.
Can I wash a motorcycle jacket in the washing machine?
We'd advise against it. Spinning and high temperatures can permanently deform the armour in the shoulders, elbows and back - and then it stops protecting you. Gore-Tex membranes and reflective panels don't forgive it either: you lose waterproofing and night visibility. A jacket is safety gear, not a T-shirt - one bad wash can retire it from the road.
Do you clean textile and Gore-Tex jackets too?
Yes - it's one of the things we do most often. Textile and combination jackets are washed at low temperature, without spinning, to protect the membrane and the seams. After cleaning we can refresh the water-repellent finish so rain beads off instead of soaking in. We check the reflective panels and zips at the final quality control.
Do you speak English, and do you pick up?
Yes on both. You can explain what your gear needs in English, and we offer pickup and delivery across Lublin - so your bike stays in the garage while the jacket comes to us and goes back to your door. We confirm the timing when we take the jacket in. Many of our customers are expats and students.

Yes. Alongside jackets we take motorcycle trousers and motorcycle boots - same gear, same philosophy: we clean them without harming the protection or the membranes. If you're dropping off a full set, mention it when you come in and we'll quote everything together. Leather always gets conditioned after cleaning.
