Can I wash a down jacket in my home machine?
You can try, but the risk is real. Wet down clumps together and stops insulating, and a home dryer rarely fixes it. Hard water also leaves white marks on the membrane. If you do wash at home, use a delicate cycle, a down-specific detergent and dry with tennis balls. With an expensive down or Gore-Tex jacket, it's simply not worth the gamble.

Will washing restore my jacket's waterproofing?
Yes, that's one of the key steps. Washing strips the old coating, so we reactivate the membrane with controlled heat and, on request, apply a fresh water-repellent finish. The jacket comes back not just clean but genuinely protective against rain - close to how it performed the day you bought it.
How long does jacket washing take?
A jacket is normally ready in 48 hours. If you have a mountain trip next week, we have a 24h express option. We also offer pickup and delivery across Lublin, so you don't need to travel twice. We're an English-speaking laundry - just tell us the deadline and we'll stick to it.
My down is clumped after a home wash - can it be saved?
Usually yes. Clumped down is just wet feathers stuck together that never dried evenly. We wash the jacket with a down detergent, then dry it with tennis balls that break up the lumps and bring the loft back. A jacket that felt as thin as a windbreaker regains its volume and warmth.
Do you wash ski and Gore-Tex jackets?
Yes, it's our everyday work. Ski jackets, softshells and Gore-Tex membranes are washed with products made for technical fabrics - no harsh detergents that clog the membrane's pores. We protect breathability and waterproofing, and the taped, bonded seams stay intact. We don't clean suede or natural leather, though - for those, see a leather specialist.
