A veil is more than a bridal accessory
On your wedding day, it completed your look. It framed your face in the church, draped softly over your shoulders, danced in the wind during the photo shoot. All day long, it was part of your story.
Now, after the wedding, it carries traces of that day — hairspray, foundation on the collar, guests' fingerprints, dust from the outdoor session. You want to keep it for years. But how do you do that without damaging the delicate tulle or embellishments? How do you ensure it stays clean and fresh even after decades?
Why home washing ruins veils
Tearing delicate tulle
Tulle and organza are extremely delicate — a single snag on the washing machine drum can create a hole. Aggressive spinning tears fibers, and a sharp pull can irreversibly destroy hand-sewn lace.
Loss of embellishments
Pearls, beads, sequins, and embroidery are hand-sewn with thin thread. A home washing machine causes embellishments to fall off and threads to break. A single pearl can block the pump and cause machine failure.
Yellowing and discoloration
Improper storage or soap residue causes white tulle to yellow over time. Makeup or hairspray stains, if not professionally removed, become embedded and turn brown after years.
At Gorące Żelazko laundry, we clean every veil exclusively by hand — no machine, no spinning, no pulling. We use special agents safe for delicate fabrics and embellishments. At the end, we prepare the veil for long-term storage in neutral tissue paper — so it will not yellow over the years.
6 steps to a perfectly clean veil
Every veil goes through a full professional care process — from inspection to preservation and storage preparation.
Inspection and documentation

We start with a thorough examination of your veil. We identify the fabric type (tulle, organza, lace), check all embellishments (pearls, embroidery, appliqués), and locate every stain. We take documentary photos to ensure everything returns to its place.

Spot stain removal

Every stain is a different challenge. Foundation, hairspray, lipstick — each requires different products. Our specialists treat each stain individually: apply the right agent spot by spot with a cotton swab, wait for it to work, then gently rinse. No rubbing, no scrubbing.

Hand washing in lukewarm water

We never use a machine. We soak the veil in a large tub with lukewarm water (maximum 30°C) and gentle detergent designed for tulle and lace. We gently wash by hand, allowing the water to flow naturally through the fabric. Zero mechanical friction.

Natural flat drying

A wet veil cannot hang — it will stretch under its own weight. We lay it flat on a mesh stretched horizontally, in a well-ventilated room, away from direct sunlight. The tulle dries slowly and evenly, without deformation.

Gentle steam treatment

Dry tulle is wrinkled after drying. We use a professional steam station at low pressure — steam smooths the fabric without touching it with an iron. We steam the veil from a few centimeters away, gently stretching the fabric with our hands.

Quality control and storage preparation

Before handing it back, we check every centimeter of the veil — that all embellishments are in place, that there are no tears, that the fabric is perfectly clean. We pack the veil in neutral tissue paper (not plastic!) and place it in a cardboard box that protects against light and moisture.

What our clients say
Google Maps reviews from brides who entrusted us with their veils.
"A month after my wedding, I brought in my veil — it was covered in hairspray and had foundation stains on the collar. Not only did they clean it perfectly, they also packed it in a special storage box. Now I know it will last in perfect condition for years. Highly recommend!"
"My daughter wanted to wear my veil from the 90s at her wedding. Unfortunately, it had yellowed and had stains. At Gorące Żelazko, they restored its beautiful white color — as if it were brand new. My daughter was thrilled. It was a wonderful memory for both of us."
