# Your duvet is a breeding ground for mites. We'll wash it clean

Professional washing of duvets, pillows and blankets. No lumps, no mould, no allergens. Ready in 48 hours

## When did you last wash your duvet?

Most people do it once a year. Or never. In that time, a single duvet accumulates up to 2 million dust mites, dead skin cells, sweat and allergens.

Your home washer can't handle this. Too small. Too gentle. And drying on the balcony? That's a straight path to mould and clumped filling. That's why professional laundries exist.

## What happens when duvet washing goes wrong

### Mites and allergens remain inside

A home washing machine usually can't reach the temperature and spin power needed to remove dust mites effectively. People with allergies may then experience skin irritation, coughing, or a runny nose.

### Filling clumps into lumps

Down or synthetic fibre can clump into lumps, especially if the duvet dries too quickly or unevenly. It then loses its fluffiness, and warmth spreads unevenly: some spots feel cooler, others warmer.

### Mould and unpleasant odour appear

If moisture stays too long inside the filling, mould and an unpleasant odour can develop that home methods won't remove. This usually calls for washing at high temperature and thoroughly drying the whole duvet.

At Gorące Żelazko laundry, your duvet is washed at high temperature, which reduces dust mites, and dried with tennis balls that break up clumps and restore the down's volume. Thorough drying also removes the moisture responsible for mould and odour.

## How we bring your duvet back to life

Six steps that transform a dirty duvet into a clean, fluffy and hygienic item you sleep peacefully in

1. **Fabric and filling inspection**: We check the filling type, seam condition and soil level. We select temperature, detergents and washing programme.
2. **Stain removal**: Coffee, wine, blood, grease. Each stain requires a different treatment. We work point by point before the duvet enters the washer.
3. **Washing in industrial machine**: Our drums fit a king-size duvet without stress. High temperature. Strong spin. Mites die. Allergens disappear.
4. **Drying with tennis balls**: A dryer with balls breaks up clumped filling and restores down to its original volume. Every layer of the duvet dries evenly.
5. **Fluffing and refreshing**: A special process that restores the duvet's fluffiness. Filling returns to its place. You feel the difference the first night.
6. **Quality control**: We check every inch. No stains. No odours. No lumps. Only then do we pack the duvet and hand it back to you.

## Why you should trust us with your duvet

Because you're not the first person worried that a laundry will ruin their favourite bedding

- **Experience with different fillings**: Goose down, synthetic fibre, wool, silk. Each requires a different approach. We've been doing this for years and know how not to ruin your duvet.
- **Elimination of allergens and mites**: Industrial washing at high temperatures kills 99.9% of mites and removes dead skin cells. This isn't a myth. It's medical-grade hygiene.
- **Ready in 48 hours**: You bring the duvet on Monday, pick it up on Wednesday. And if urgent, we do it in 24 hours. No pain. No delays.
- **Quality and safety guarantee**: If something goes wrong, we fix it or refund your money. We've never had to, but this promise is here.

## Bedding and duvet washing - frequently asked questions

What it costs, how to wash down, and whether your home machine can handle it - straight answers.

### How much does duvet washing cost?

Washing a synthetic duvet starts from 50 PLN, and the final price depends on size and filling - a down or wool duvet costs more than a light synthetic one, because it needs a different programme and longer drying. Pillows, blankets and sleeping bags are priced separately. You'll find all the ranges in our price list, and if you're unsure, just bring the duvet in - we'll weigh it, check it and give you an exact price.

### How do I wash a down duvet without the filling clumping?

Down clumps when it dries too slowly or in a drum that's too small - and then the duvet never regains its shape. A home machine is usually too small, and balcony drying takes far too long. We wash in an industrial drum and dry with balls that break up the filling and restore the loft. You feel it the first night: the duvet is light and evenly warm again, not flat in some spots and thick in others.

### Can I wash a duvet in a home washing machine?

A light synthetic duvet sometimes fits, but most king-size duvets simply don't - and one crammed in by force can't actually get clean, because water and detergent never reach the middle. Drying is the bigger problem: a thick duvet takes days to dry at home, and trapped moisture leads straight to mould and an odour you can't remove. Thick duvets are better left to a laundry with the right equipment.

### How long does duvet washing take?

As standard, you get your duvet back clean in 48 hours - drop it off Monday, sleep under it fresh on Wednesday. If you need it sooner, we have a 24-hour express option. We also offer pickup and delivery across Lublin, so you don't have to haul a bulky duvet through the city - and we're glad to sort it out in English.

### Do you wash only duvets, or bedding, pillows and blankets too?

We wash the whole sleep set: duvets, pillows, blankets, throws, sleeping bags and bed linen. It's worth handing everything over at once, because a pillow collects just as many mites and as much sweat as a duvet - people simply forget about it more often. That way the whole bed is genuinely clean, not just the top layer.

### Does washing remove dust mites and allergens?

Yes, and it's the main reason people bring us their duvets. A single duvet can host up to two million dust mites, and a home machine never reaches the temperature that kills them. Our high-temperature wash removes mites, dead skin cells and the allergens that trigger a runny nose and coughing. Parents of allergic kids tell us the child simply stops coughing at night.
